CONSULTING

Note that we distinguish between Consulting and Advisory Services. As we use the term, "consulting" means not only providing advice, but also supporting that advice with thorough research and analysis. A. Page & Associates' Consulting Services are geared to providing longer-term value, while advisory services are geared to helping clients gain more immediate benefits.

A. Page & Associates uses a phased approach to providing Consulting Services. Note that we discuss the results of each phase with the client immediately upon completing that phase, to ensure that all parties are in agreement. We will not proceed unless both the client and our team members agree to do so.

Typically, the Consulting process involves the following phases:

• We first thoroughly review the idea, business, organization, market, and resource to be studied. As part of this review, we determine the value of the work to be performed, and present the results to the client, who then determines whether or not to proceed.

• Assuming the project is approved, we next determine the scope of the project, establish the time line, and prepare the budget. The focus here is upon determining if the cost of the project and the time required to complete it are consistent with the client's expectations.

• The next steps entail choosing the members of the project team, pulling together the data required, and performing the analysis.

• Once we have performed the analysis, we then prepare a set of conclusions and test these conclusions against real-world circumstances.

• We next present the client with a preliminary set of results and conclusions. If necessary, we may perform additional data gathering and analysis to support or supplement these preliminary results.

• We then prepare a final set of recommendations, a cost/benefit analysis and an implementation plan, including the budget and time line. Based on the client's response, we will make any necessary changes to reach a final agreement.

• Once we have a final set of approved recommendations, we will proceed to put these recommendations into effect as specified in the implementation plan.

For consulting to be of value, there must be constant communication between the client and the project team. Accordingly, A. Page & Associates provides training and support to ensure that the client not only approves the recommendations, but also understands the reasons behind them. Without such an understanding, it is highly unlikely that the work performed will achieve the desired results or be truly useful to the client.
